Our View
Philip Rivers is going into his Week 9 start with preposterously few weapons, as Patrick Crayton will now be his number one target in Gates' absence. He won't even have Buster Davis to throw to, as he was placed on injured reserve early last week with a groin injury. He'll be facing Houston's 32nd ranked pass defense, but at a certain point, he can't keep putting on such amazing aerial displays when virtually all of his weapons are out. That being said, it could be a big receiving day for running backs Darren Sproles, Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews.
