Joe Mauer and Victor Martinez are clearly the top catchers for  the upcoming fantasy baseball season and are the only catchers worth a significant investment on draft day. Expect Mauer( .347 13 HRS 84 RBI) to come back down to earth slightly and Martinez to improve on his somewhat disappointing 2006 (.316 16 HRS 93 RBI). After that, the rest only have a mariginal value-over-replacement (though Brian McCann is an intriguing pick). The GNUru has no qualms about taking a Michael Barrett or a Johnny Estrada late in the draft while loading up at other positions. Unless your league is unusually large, any of the top 15 catchers should be more than adequate. That said, even if you blow your draft pick, there are always Josh Willinghams and Craig Wilsons who emerge as outstanding catchers.
